Medication

We have designed our medication courses in a modular style, so that staff returning for their refresher training are able to refresh the key areas and then develop their knowledge, rather than just reiterating the basics.

Our introductory module is designed for staff new to the field of medication and introduces the subject, relevent terminology and current practice.  As practice differs substantially between domiciliary and residential care we offer two separate courses to ensure correct practice is followed.

The intermediate module enhances this knowledge and further develops the students understanding of good practice.  This course is designed to meet the underpinning knowledge requirements of the NVQ2 unit in medication.

Module 3, our advanced module, builds on the knowledge and experiences gained by the student so far in their career and includes an element of basic pharmacology to fulfill all of the theoretical requirements of the NVQ3 medication unit.

Our Medication Assessors module is designed for experienced carers or managers who are thoroughly familiar with medication administration and provides them with the skills and knowledge to carry out medication risk assessments on new service users
